CONTEMPORARY DEVELOPMENT COMMUNICATION:

Development communication refers to the use of communication to facilitate  social development. Development communication engages stakeholders and policymakers, establishes conductive environments, assesses risks and opportunities, and promotes information exchange to create positive social change via sustainability.

IMPORTANCE:

Communication about development is essential to ensure sustained attention to the issues  which are necessary in getting the essential commitment from world leaders and the wider public to give meaning to the process. Development communication is a vital part of the political processes.

ABOUT THE COURSE:

Sustainable urban and rural development is about improving the quality of life in a locality, including ecological, cultural, political, institutional, social and economic components without leaving any burden—e.g., the result of a reduced natural capital and an excessive local debt—on future generations.
